Decision no. 272, dated 7 May 2014 on the creation, organization and operation of rescue centers for wild fauna species.

This Decision, based on the provisions of the Law No. 10006 on wild fauna protection, defines the creation of rescue centers, which serve for the maintenance, protection, treatment and rehabilitation of individual animals of wild fauna caught, seized, confiscated, damaged or abandoned, unable to survive in the wild. In cases where these animals, after treatment and rehabilitation in these centers, are capable to survive in the wild, they will be released into the wild. The creation of rescue centers is carried out by natural or legal persons, or non-profit organizations, domestic or foreign, dealing with the protection of wild fauna, in accordance with the legislation in force and international acts to which the Republic of Albania is a party. Rescue centers are created within the public forest and pasture fund.
