This Decision, which approves rules for the sustainable use of plant protection products and sets qualification criteria for users, aims to establish guidelines for ensuring the sustainable utilization of these products. The goal is to mitigate risks and minimize the adverse effects on human health and the environment. It also encourages the adoption of integrated pest management practices and explores alternative techniques, including non-chemical solutions. In part, this Decision adheres to the principles outlined in Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, which outlines a framework for sustainable pesticide use within the community.
