Law No. 8411 on animal feeding.

The purpose of this Law is: to support the increase of livestock production; to ensure quality production according to approved standards; to protect animal health; and to prevent fraud in the production and trade of animal feeding. The responsible State institution is the Livestock Inspectorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food together with its local branches. The Law also establishes the Animal Feeding Commission, chaired by the Minister of Agriculture. In case of infringement, the administrative sanctions laid down by the Law shall be applied.
