Law No. 9583 amending and supplementing Law No. 9235 of 2004 on the restitution and compensation of the property.

This Law lays down some amendments and addenda to Law No. 9235 of 2004. The amendment extends the scope of the Law to the immovable properties created before 7 April 1939 and sequestrated according to Law No. 37 of 1945 on the extraordinary tax on war profits. It also revises the list of the properties that cannot be restituted and that of the properties that serve the public interest. Furthermore, the amendment revises the regulations dealing with State-owned land and residences. The State Committee for Restitution and Compensation of Property is transformed into the Agency for Restitution and Compensation of Property, a public legal entity with its main center in Tirana and regional offices in each district.
