Abstract
This Order here approves the regulation for the implementation of Law no. 64, dated 31.5.2012, "On fishing", which is part of this text. The Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy Directorate and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Services Directorate are in charge for the follow-up and implementation of this Order.
The regulation for the implementation of law no. 64, dated 31.5.2012, "On fishing" is divided into main thematic parts and a total of 50 articles. Titles of these parts are as follows: I. General provisions; II. Fishes and their protection; III. Committees; IV. The register of professional fishermen and the national register of fishing vessels; V. Fishing permits; VI. Scientific research; and VII. Inspection and control of fishing activity.
See article 2 for issues regarding the measuring of dimensions of aquatic organisms; minimum dimensions of some aquatic organisms are defined in article 3; the prohibition to fish certain species in certain periods and areas is closely determined in article 4; prohibitions are listed in article 5; characteristics of shellfish fishing vessels are laid down in article 9; contents of management and implementation plans are defined in article 16; mission of fisheries inspectors is defined in article 42. This text further sets provisions related to the underwater fishing, recreational fishing, destruction of seized tools and equipment, necessary professional qualifications, availability of fishing permits and their duplicates, necessary conditions for the development of fishing activity, ports/harbors and fishing centers, requirements for the recognition of research entities, including obligations of such recognized research entities.
