Abstract
The Regulation sets forth rules and regulations for the following purposes: preventing and minimizing land pollution caused by storage, deposit, and processing of metal waste; minimizing pollution by rain caused by the installation, deposit, and treatment of metal waste; minimizing air pollution including noise, smell, dust, and vibrations during the metal waste processing; minimizing the metal waste impact on cultural and aesthetic values. The rules and regulations lay down environmental requirements for business operators of metal waste regarding the waste collection, deposit, and treatment. The regulation is composed of the following sections: I- General Provisions, II- Scope and Definitions, III- Role of Public Authorities, IV- Environmental Requirements regarding the Metal Waste Collection, Deposit, and Treatment, V- Requirements and Standards regarding the Waste Acceptance in the Collection and Deposit Sites, VI- Registration and Information, VII- Inspection, and VIII- Final Provisions. The Ministry responsible for environment, the National Agency of Environment, local government units, and the line state inspectorate share enforcement responsibilities.
