Abstract
The purpose of Forest Code is to promote scientifically substantiated conservation, protection, reproduction and rational use of forests proceeding from ecological, social and economic importance of forests. The Law consists of 22 Sections that contain 62 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 5-8) regards state management of forests. Section 3 (art. 9) regards classification of forests into categories. Section 4 (arts. 10-11) regards felling age and final yield calculation. Section 5 (arts. 12-13) regards transfer of forests areas into non-forest areas. Section 6 (arts. 14-15) regards distribution, projecting, construction and putting in operation objects having impact on the state and reproduction of forests. Section 7 ( arts. 16-22) regards forest management. Section 8 (arts. 23-27) establishes rights and duties of forest managers. Section 9 (arts. 28-29) establishes the modalities of timber extraction and calculation of the amount of timber extraction. Section 10 (arts. 30-31) establishes the modalities of extraction of secondary forest products. Section 11 (arts. 32-34) establishes the modalities of carrying out collateral forest management. Section 12 (arts. 35-37) regards forest management for hunting, scientific research and cultural and recreational purposes. Section 13 (arts. 38-40) regards the particulars of forest management on protected areas, urban forests and borderland. Section 14 (arts. 41-44) regards regeneration, raising the productivity of forests and reforestation. Section 15 (arts. 45-48) regards conservation and protection of forests. Section 16 (art. 49) regards state forest service. Section 17 (arts. 50-51) regards forest charges. Section 18 (arts. 52-53) regards forest management. Section 19 (art. 54) regards state forest cadastre and state registration of the stock of forest. Section 20 (arts. 55-56) regards state control over the state, conservation, protection, regeneration and use of forests. Section 21 (arts. 57-61) regards dispute settlement and establishes liability for the infringement of forest legislation. Section 22 (art. 62) regards international agreements.
