This Government Decision defines the procedure for the use and discharge and issuance of permit for flowing out of wells for acceptance of effluent waste water and groundwater originating from abandoned mines and quarries. The use of absorption wells, abandoned mines, mine shafts and open pits for the reception of wastewater and ground water for discharge purposes is allowed with a water use permit issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia, the Department of Emergency Situations, territorial administration and local self-government bodies, as well as in the presence of the consent of the subsoil user. The permit for the use of absorption wells, exhausted deposits, mine shafts and open mines for the reception of wastewater and ground water, as a mandatory condition, must include the permissible limit discharge quantities of wastewater and ground water, the control of which requirements are ensured by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The use of absorption wells, depleted deposits, mine pits and open pits for the reception of wastewater and ground water for discharge purposes is prohibited, if it leads or may lead to the violation of water quality standards of underground water resources.
