Abstract
This Decree approves the Regulation on the Fisheries Control. The annexed Regulation, consisting of 46 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes the rules governing the surveillance of fishing activities and related fishing operations or activities, with a view to ensuring the compliance with applicable legislation and the appropriate management of aquatic biological resources. This regime applies to all fishing activities in waters under Angolan jurisdiction, to Angolan flag fishing vessels operating on the high seas, to aquaculture facilities and processing establishments, including freezing, as well as transformation and supply of fish located in Angolan territory. Particular attention is placed on inspections over fishing vessels. The Decree is divided as follows: General Provisions (Chap. I); Observation of Fishing Activities (Chap. II); Oversight (Chap. III); Surveys and Inspections (Chap. IV); Procedural Acts (Chap. V).
