Executive Decree No. 260/18 approving the Regulation of the National Directorate of Forestry.

This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Directorate of Forestry within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests. This Regulation, consisting of 11 articles divided into three Chapters and 2 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Directorate. Within the scope of the powers established in Article 18 of the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry "MINAGRIF", the National Directorate of Forestry is entitled to: a) Propose policies and strategies for development in the field of forests and related activities ; b) Elaborate political studies that aim at the conservation and sustainable management of forest, faunistic and apicultural resources; c) Ensure the development and implementation of methodological standards for the prevention and control of deforestation, forest degradation and desertification; d) Promote the expansion of the forest regime and issue opinions on plans for the submission of properties to that regime; e) Control forestry activities in accordance with the law; j) Control and monitor the activity of the forest products processing industries and their derivatives; g) Ensure compliance with provisions resulting from regional and international agreements; h) Elaborate studies that aim at the establishment of the fees and emoluments due to the exploitation of forest resources; i) Carry out studies with a view to updating the policy on prices and markets for forest products; etc.
