Presidential Decree No. 15/18 approving the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MINAGRIF).

This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MINAGRIF). This Statute, consisting of 40 articles divided into four Chapters and four Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, as a Ministerial Department of the President of the Republic as head of the Executive Branch. Its mission is to propose the formulation, conduct, execution and control of the Executive's policy in the fields of agriculture, livestock, forests, food security and food in a sustainable development perspective. In particular, the Ministry is responsible to formulate and propose policies and strategies for national development in the fields of agriculture, livestock, forestry, food and food security, promoting and coordinating the actions necessary for its implementation; prepare proposals for development programmes related to the above mentioned sectors to be included in the National Development Plan; support economic activities related to the production, transportation, processing, packaging, industrialization and marketing of agro-livestock and forestry products; promote and support the development of family and business agriculture; promote and ensure the rational management of water resources for agriculture, etc.
