Presidential Decree No. 118/21 approving the Statute of the National Institute of Water Resources (INRH).

This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the National Institution of Water Resources (INGRH). This Statute, consisting of 28 articles divided into five Chapters and two Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to ensure the execution of the National Water Resources Policy. In particular, it is responsible for performing the following activities: a) Execute the national water resources policy, ensuring its implementation, monitoring and follow-up; b) Ensure the planning of water resources, aiming at their efficient and sustainable use; c) Issue licences for the use of water resources; d) Establish plans, programmes and projects for the development, protection, preservation, valorization and rational use of water resources; e) Implement the National Water Resources Plan; f) Propose the revision of the National Water Resources Plan; g) Monitor and evaluate the General Plans for the Development and Use of Water Resources for each Hydrographic Basin, implemented by the Hydrographic Basin Administration Bodies; h) Ensure the articulation of the National Water Resources Plan with different sectoral plannings, etc.
