Abstract
This Presidential Decree, according to Law No. 15/16 of 12 September, approves the Regulation of the State's Local Administration Law. This Regulation, consisting of 136 articles divided into nine Chapters and six Annexes, establishes the principles and rules for the organization and functioning of the State's Local Administration Bodies, establishing the respective structures, as well as the implementing mechanisms, applicable to all Local State Administration Bodies at the provincial, municipal levels. In addition, it defines the principles and objectives, regulating the administration of the province, the administrative commission of the municipality, the municipal administration, administration of the commune and the urban district. Local State Administration is exercised by administrative bodies devolved from the Central Administration aiming to ensure, at the respective territorial levels, the fulfillment of the specific duties and interests of the State Administration and citizens, communities and companies, promoting socio-economic development and guaranteeing the provision of public services in the respective administrative district, without prejudice to the autonomy of local authorities.
