Presidential Decree No. 27/16 approving the General Plan for Integrated Use of Water Resources (PGUIRH) within the Cubango River Basin.

This Presidential Decree approves the General Plan for Integrated Use of Water Resources (PGUIRH) within the Cubango River Basin. This Plan, consisting of 10 sections, is organized in four Phases as follows: Monograph (Phase 1); Definition of development scenarios and objectives (Phase 2); Elaboration of a strategy by measures and actions (Phase 3); Team capacity building (Phase 4). This Plan also focuses on the river basin peculiarity and its water resources management, on the environmental and socio-economic subsystems and their possible scenarios for the development and implementation of basic needs, on the definition of objectives, on the valorisation of water resources, as well as on measures, actions and works schemes related to the main issues concerning the sharing of water with the other boundaries countries of the Cubango/Okavango river basin (Botswana and Namibia) and for legislative and institutional subsystems.
