Presidential Decree No. 82/14 approving the Regulation of General Use of Water Resources.

This Presidential Decree approves the Regulation of General Use of Water Resources. This Regulation, consisting of 12 Chapters divided into 124 articles and 1 Annex, establishes the Rules of General Use of Water Resources, which regime of planning, general management and use of water resources, regulates the issuing of authorizations and certificates, and distinguishes the uses of with or without a title of use (the latter includes common use of water), sets forth the economic and financial system for use of water resources, establishing fees and water charges as well as terms of payment, collection and the occupation regime, expropriation and servitude. It also lays down the system of monitoring and evaluation including sanctions being applicable to surface and ground waters, including rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps, springs, lakes, estuarine areas and other water bodies, etc.
