Abstract
This Resolution approves the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change which aims to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions adopted in Kyoto on 11 December 1997. This Protocol consists of 28 articles one Annex and the text of the Protocol in its original Portuguese translation. The Kyoto Protocol implements the objective of the UNFCCC to fight global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emission in the atmosphere to a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. Annex lays down a Table regarding carbon dioxide emissions of Parties in 1990 for the purposes of Article 25 of the Kyoto Protocol, as well as commitment of quantified reduction or limitation of emissions (percentage of base year or period).
