Abstract
This Resolution approves the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer, which establishes a commitment to reduce the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons for all countries to ensure the well-being of all human beings, raising environmental awareness, by making society in general and individuals in particular responsible for the proper use of natural resources and thereby ensuring their perpetuation. The Kigali Amendment, consisting of 17 articles and six Annexes, specifies that each Party shall ensure that, for the twelve-month period commencing on 1 January 2019 and for each subsequent twelve-month period controlled substances expressed as CO2 equivalents, shall not exceed the percentage set for the respective series of years the annual average.
