Abstract
The purpose of the present Ordinance is to implement the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1266/2007 on implementing rules for Council Directive 2000/75/EC as regards the control, monitoring, surveillance and restrictions on movements of certain animals of susceptible species in relation to bluetongue of 26 October 2007. Furthermore, the Ordinance implements the Epizootic Disease Act (RGBl. No. 177/1909). In particular, the Ordinance sets out detailed rules governing the control, monitoring, surveillance and restrictions on movements of animals with a view to preventing the outbreak and spread of bluetongue disease. The text consists of 14 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Administrative measures if there is suspicion and confirmation of bluetongue in farms (2); Zoning, measures in the protection and surveillance zones (3); Final provisions (4). Three Annexes are enclosed.
