Abstract
This Act is implementing the EU Regulation 2016/1012 on animal breeding and parentage regulations for the breeding, trade and movement purebred breeding animals and hybrid breeding pigs into the Union as far as are considered at state legislative level. The Act is aiming to improve animal health and animal welfare, profitability and competitiveness of livestock production, and is aiming to maintain or promote genetic quality and diversity besides ensuring quality requirements of the animal products. The text provides for the regulations on recognition a breeding association or a breeding company and the permit requirement for implementation of a breeding program. The text further requires for compliance with the veterinary rules for transfer of ownership or cession of (breeding) animals, delivery of semen, egg cells and embryos and their use. Furthermore, the Act provides for placing or selling the semen in the market of Carinthia. The text lays out provision for use of seeds, marketing and delivery of ova and embryos, use of embryos, and insemination technician and owning herd inseminator. Article 22 provides a list of the applicable EU regulations by the Act.
