Abstract
The present Act introduces the Directive 2002/95/EC concerning the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment into German national legislation. In particular, article 4 establishes that new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market shall not contain lead, mercury, cadmium,and other hazardous substances in excess of the levels which are deemed hazardous. The text consists of 28 articles and 5 Annexes.
