Abstract
An Ordinance to regulate in details the sanitary requirements relating to production, treatment, storage and transport of fresh meat in Austria. Part 2 deals with the general hygienic requirements for meat processing plants; for example, pavement, walls, disinfection, protection from insects, etc. The special requirements for slaughterhouses are contained in Part 3. They have to be special conditions such as big rooms, etc. Moreover, the Ordinance lays down rules of conduct and clothing for personnel. The detailed hygienic requirements for slaughtering, storage and transport of fresh meat is prescribed in Part 7. Finally, it establishes also sanitary provisions for agricultural meat processing farms. The present Ordinance consists of 20 articles divided into 11 Parts.
