Abstract
The Invasive Species Act (IAG), published on January 27, 2017, in Salzburg, outlines supplementary measures for implementing EU Regulation No. 1143/2014 on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species. It defines responsibilities for regional and district authorities, allows the involvement of nature, hunting, and fisheries protection officers, and provides for emergency measures, management and restoration plans, as well as public participation procedures. Violations can be penalized with fines up to €36,500. The primary goal is to effectively protect biodiversity and ecosystems in the Salzburg region. The text consists of 10 Articles.
