Law on protection of nature and development of landscape.

An Act concerning the protection of nature and landscape in the region of Vorarlberg. It does not apply to matters which are regulated by federal law. Affected areas must be treated in such a way that nature can regenerate itself, an that there be respect for animals and the natural beauty of the landscape. Local authorities are called to comply with these regulations. Moreover, they have to make aware local population of the importance of the protection of the environment. The Act deals, in particular, with protection of riversides, of woods, and of specially protected areas. Part 4 deals with surveying organs, the appointment of a special environment ombudsman, and authorizations, etc. The Act comprises 63 articles divided into 5 Parts.
