Protocol on the implementation of the Alpine Convention of 1991 in the field of tourism.

This Protocol was adopted to implement the Alpine Convention in the field of tourism, which shall be based on on developing natural heritage and providing high quality services, in a sustainable manner. The objective is to contribute to sustainable development in the Alpine region within the existing institutional framework, by encouraging environmentally-friendly tourism through specific measures and recommendations which take the interests of both the local population and tourists into account.
