Abstract
This Ordinance provides regulations for the import, re-import and transit of live animals, dead animals, and objects that may be carriers of a contagious animal disease or which may endanger human health (objects). The Ordinance implements the import and transit of animals, goods and objects from third countries which are subject to an agreement with the European Union on veterinary hygiene measures in trade of live animals, goods and objects. The text provides for issuance of certificate by the country of origin, shipment control documents, import permit and border veterinary approval. The Ordinance lays down import bans due to violation of regulations of the country of destination and describes rejecting conditions. The text further provides for powers and duties of the customs authority and final provisions. The Ordinance consists of 5 Sections as follow: Control obligation and exception provisions (1); General import and transit regulations (2); Special import and transit regulations (3); Veterinary border control (4) and Control powers of the authority (5).
