Abstract
The present Act implements, inter alia, the Council Directive 2000/29/EC of 8 May 2000 on protective measures against the introduction into the Community of organisms harmful to plants or plant products and against their spread within the Community. At the outset the Act contains a definition clause containing various terms therein employed, such as, “plants”, “plant products”, “harmful organisms”. Article 3 lays down the procedures to be followed for plant owners detecting harmful organisms in their plants. The competent authority has thereafter to ensure to take the necessecary measures to eliminate these harmful organisms. The Act consists of 13 articles.
