Abstract
These Regulations, made under the National Environment Protection Council Act 1994, concern the protection of the environment on and around airports specified by these Regulations. The Regulations aim at prevention of water, soil and noise pollution generated by activities at airports and promote improving environmental management practices for activities carried out at airport sites. They do not apply to (noise) pollution generated by an aircraft.
The Regulations, among other things, impose certain obligations on operators of undertakings at an airport also in relation with environment strategies and environment impact assessment, provide for authorization of activities, provide for monitoring, reporting and remedial action and provide for enforcement.
