Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 31 sections divided into six Parts and completed by five Schedules, implement provisions of the Animal (Brands and Movement) Act 1984. The Regulations are divided as follows: Preliminary (Part 1); Brands and Tags, including registration and related matters (Part 2); Procurement of Permanent Identification Devices and Prescribed Tags (Part 3); Vendor Declarations and Movement Records (Part 4); Reporting Cattle Movements to NLIS Database (Part 5); Miscellaneous (Part 6). They provide for: animal brands and tags, and certificates of registration; procurement of permanent identification devices and tags; movement of pigs; vendor declarations and movement records for cattle, pigs, sheep and goats; the reporting of cattle movements from one property to another to the National Livestock Identification System; etc.
Entry into force notes
These regulations enter into force on 10 December 2014.
