Arts, Territories and Environment Legislation Amendment Act 1989 (Act No. 60).

The Environment Protection (Sea Dumping) Act 1981 is amended by Part 8 of this Act. The amendments are as follows: (i) the scope of the Act is broadened as to include the coastal waters of a State; (ii) there is no time limit to bring a prosecution for an offence against the Act; (iii) provision is made for new types of evidence; (iv) fees in respect of applications may be waived or remitted; and (v) penalties are amended as set out in Schedule 4.
