Abstract
These Regulations establish a Cattle Industry Declared Pest Control and Compensation Funding Scheme to address biosecurity threats relevant to the cattle industries. The Funding Scheme collects contributions from industry to implement programmes that address industry’s biosecurity priorities.
The Regulations establish a Cattle Industry Declared Pest Control and Compensation Account and a Cattle Industry Funding Scheme Management Committee. The management committee determines which pests and disease threats require action, how best to deal with the threats, and what contributions will be needed from industry to tackle the problem. This will allow cattle producers to raise funds to self-manage serious pests and diseases that may threaten the viability and sustainability of their industries.
