Abstract
These Regulations establish the Sheep and Goats Industry Declared Pest and Control and Compensation Funding Scheme to address biosecurity threats relevant to the sheep and goat industries. The Scheme is overseen by the Sheep and Goats Industry Funding Scheme Management Committee established under these Regulations.
The Regulations also establish a Sheep and Goat Industry Declared Pest Control and Compensation Account. The management committee determines which pests and disease threats require action, how best to deal with the threats, and what contributions will be needed from industry to tackle the problem. This will allow sheep and goat producers to raise funds to self-manage serious pests and diseases that may threaten the viability and sustainability of their industries
