Abstract
This Act, consisting of 68 sections divided into five Parts, provides for the government bodies responsible for fire control and response, for prohibited and restricted burning times, for occupier’s responsibilities in the case of a fire, and for activities which are regulated to prevent the risk of bushfires.
The Minister may also declare a total fire ban in respect of any area of the territory.
The Act further provides for: general prohibitions, restrictions and offences; control and extinguishment of bush fires; appointment and powers of bush fire control officers; etc.
