Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 38 sections divided into five Parts and one Schedule, establishes the control the use over chemical both for agricultural and veterinary purposes. It prescribes: the maximum residue limit MRL of chemical residues mentioned for agricultural produce; MRLs for the tissue of a trade species animal or a product derived from a trade species animal. In particular, it establishes MRLs for chemicals for human food commodity—MRL standard: for particular human food commodity, the MRL is the prescribed for the residue of the chemical in or on the commodity as a human food commodity. It also specifies other MRLs for chemicals for human food commodity as follows: 1) if the MRL standard does not fix an MRL for a particular chemical for specific human food commodity, the prescribed MRL for the residue of the chemical in or on the commodity as a human food commodity is zero. 2) if the MRL standard does not fix an MRL for a particular chemical for any human food commodities at all, the prescribed MRL for the residue of the chemical in or on each commodity as a human food commodity is zero.
Pesticide MRL residues in animal feed are specified in the text. A person must not use a restricted chemical product that is a pre-construction termiticide product containing bifenthrin or chlorpyrifos, unless the person holds a licence under the Pest Management Act 2001 to carry out a pest control activity for timber pests.
Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 1 September 2017.
