Abstract
This Act makes provision with respect to the marketing and export of dairy produce. The body corporate that was in existence in virtue of the Dairy Produce Act, 1924, continues in existence under the same name (sect. 5). The objective of the Corporation is to enhance the profitable production and marketing of Australian dairy produce (sect. 6). The functions of the Corporation are: (a) to improve the marketability of Australian dairy produce; (b) to promote the consumption of Australian dairy produce, both in Australia and in foreign countries; (c) to assist in the marketing of Australian dairy produce for export and for trade and commerce among the States, between States and Territories and within the Territories; (d) to control the export from Australia of dairy produce, etc. Provisions of Part V of this Act provide for control of the export of dairy produce including the regulation of minimum export prices and the granting of export licences. A Dairy Industry Fund, a Dairy Promotion Fund, a Dairy Produce Market Support Fund and a Dairy Produce Supplementary Market Support Fund are established (Part VII). The Act consists of 136 sections divided into 5 Parts.

Entry into force notes
Except as provided by subsections (2) and (3), this Act shall come into operation on 1 July 1986.
