Abstract
This Act regulates the exploration, exploitation and commercialization of petroleum in South Australia. For the purposes of the Act, the property in petroleum and other regulated resources is vested (or continues to be vested) in the Crown but on the production of petroleum by a person lawfully entitled to produce the petroleum it becomes the property of the person who produced it (sect. 5). The Act consists of 138 sections and is divided into the following Parts: Preliminary; Administration; Licensing regulated activities; Exploration; Retention; Production; Royalty; Transmission pipelines; Associated facilities; Entry to and use of land; General provisions about licences; Environment protection; Registrable dealings; Investigation and enforcement; Reconsideration and appeal and Miscellaneous.
