Abstract
A levy is imposed on the grant, endorsement, renewal or variation of fishing licences under subsections 19(2) and (3), 21(1), 24(1), 25A(1), and 36(4) of the Torres Strait Fisheries Act 1984 or under various sections of the Fisheries Act, and on the allocation, the renewal of allocation of units of fishing capacity. The amount of levy is prescribed in section 6. The amount of the levy imposed by this Act on the grant of a fisheries licence is payable by the person to whom the fisheries licence is granted at the time of the grant of the licence. The Governor General may make regulations for the purposes of this Act. (8 sections)
