Abstract
These Regulations implement the Fisheries Act 1995 by providing for the control and management of fisheries in Victoria on a sustainable basis.
The Regulations provide for: commercial fishery licences, their administration and the conditions they are subject to; recreational fishing licences; permits; registration of fishing boats; restrictions and prohibitions relating to fishing, fishing equipment, fishing methods and boats; minimum and maximum sizes, closed seasons and catch limits for fish and for abalone, rock lobster, giant crab and scallop; aquaculture; prescribed priority species and exemptions; enforcement and legal proceedings; etc.
