Abstract
This Regulation prescribes enforcement agencies and makes targeted modifications to the Food Standards Code, including clarifying references to the Food Authority and creating an exclusion from certain food handling requirements for qualifying charitable or community fundraising events. It regulates food safety supervisor certification, including the Food Authority’s power to determine required competency units, approval and renewal of training organisations, certificate form, fees, and procedural safeguards for variation, suspension or revocation. It also prescribes requirements for displaying nutritional information by certain standard food outlets, including the content, location, and formatting of energy information and exemptions. The Regulation establishes and operates sectoral food safety schemes (including dairy, meat, plant products, seafood, eggs as well as a scheme dedicated to vulnerable person), with licensing, inspection and audit mechanisms, fees and levies, sampling and reporting obligations, consultative committees, and offence/penalty notice frameworks.
