Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 141 sections divided into seven Parts and completed by twelve Schedules, implements the Marine Safety Act 1998 by providing specifications on the procedure for safety navigation, requirements relating to builders plates for certain recreational vessels, recreational vessels-safety equipment and facilities. This Regulation is divided as Preliminary (I); Safety of navigation (II); Special safety requirements for certain waters and vessels (III); Requirements relating to builders plates for certain recreational vessels (IV) Marine safety licences (V); Safety equipment and facilities (VI); Miscellaneous (VII). Schedules are divided as follows: Coastal bars; Partially smooth waters; Smooth waters; Modifications to Convention on International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea; Waters in which kitesurfing and sailboarding prohibited; Requirements relating to Sydney Cove; Standard of safety equipment carried on recreational vessels; Minimum safety equipment to be carried on recreational vessels; Penalty notice offences under Marine Safety Act 1998; Penalty notice offences under Marine Pollution Act 2012; Fees relating to State matters; Fees relating to National law matters.
Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 1 July 2016.
