Abstract
The Regulation lays down the discipline for pest management activities. Referring to the enabling Act the Regulation provides for a definition of a fumigant and a pest for. Part 2 and Schedule 1 indicate approved persons to carry out pest management activities. Furthermore the Part approves departmental standards called ‘Competency requirements for licensed technicians undertaking pest management activities with pesticides and fumigants’. Part 3 contains standard conditions for pest management licences; it prescribes general competency condition and specific conditions depending on the activity carried out and the type of pest and places where the activity is carried out. Part 4 provides for the requirements for carrying out pest management activities, these include conditions on when to use fumigants or pesticides, labelling, storage, and incident management. Part 5 concerns offences.
