Abstract
This Act approves the Murray Darling Basin Agreement 1992 and makes the necessary steps for its implementation in the territory of South Australia. The Act provides for the appointment of Basin Officials Committee. The Act aims to facilitate the operation of an agreement entered into between the Commonwealth, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory to promote and co-ordinate effective planning and management for the equitable, efficient and sustainable use of the water and other natural resources of the Murray-Darling Basin.
The Act provides for the construction and management of works, authorization to enter and occupy land, exemption from taxes and charges, etc.
