Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 25 sections completed by ten Schedules, implement the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 by providing specifications on wildlife conservation, for wild flora and fauna. Regulations include the following issues: 4 Interpretation; 5 Application; 6 Taking of native plants; 7 Release of animals; 8 Information to be provided on application for section 58 or 60C permit; 9 Records and returns in relation to sections 58 and 60C permits; 9A Director to supply record books, returns etc; 9B Electronic form of record books, returns etc; 10 Class 2 permits; 11 Premises from which animals are sold; 12 Advertisement to include permit number; 13 Purchase etc only from permit holder; 14 Labelling containers of protected animals, carcasses or eggs; 15 Dealing in juvenile birds or mammals; 16 Importing protected animals, carcasses and eggs; 17 Exporting protected animals, carcasses and eggs; 18 Standards for keeping protected animals; 19 Cross-breeding; 20 Conditions of emu farming permits; 21 Sealed tags for emus; 22 Declaration of royalty; 23 Notification of change of address; 24 Permit not to be used by another; 25 General offence. Schedules specify: Fees; Form of section 53(4) report; Classes of permits; Information required in returns provided under regulation 9(2); Times for provision of returns in relation to sections 58 and 60C permits; Prescribed species for purposes of section 58(1)(a) of the Act; Species excluded by proclamation under section 58(4) of the Act; Prescribed species: section 58(2)(a); Royalty; and Revocation and transitional provisions.
