Abstract
This regulation implements the Nature Conservation Act 1992; it consists of 263 sections and is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 contains preliminary provisions and regulates licences and appeals. Chapter 2 is dedicated to protected areas and covers authorizations and permits (Part 2), camping in protected areas (Part 3), stock in protected areas (Part 6) and conduct on protected areas (Part 8). Chapter 3 covers wildlife and habitat conservation and contains provisions on licences for birds (Part 2), for protected plants (Part 3), for amphibians and reptiles (Part 4), for wildlife harvesting (Part 5), for wildlife farming (Part 8) and for museums and herbariums (Part 8A). It also contains provisions on permits (Part 9) and on offences and penalties (Part 12). Chapter 4 is dedicated to the enforcement of the Act and Chapter 5 contains general provisions. The regulation is completed by seventeen schedules that specify the contents of the regulation.
