Abstract
This Regulation implements the Plant Protection Act 1989, it consists of 4 Chapters divided into 175 sections. The first two Chapters contain preliminary provisions, the difference between prescribed and notifiable pests and general offences. Chapter 3 provides for pest quarantine areas and general pest control measures. It covers various pests including: banana pests, fire ants, fire blight, grape phylloxera, mango leafhopper, red-banded mango caterpillar, mediterrean fruit fly, papaya ringspot, potato pests, strawberry plant pests, pests of sugarcane, Asian sugarcane planthopper, Cape York peninsula targeted pests, branched broomrape, electric ant, and mango malformation disease. The Regulation is completed by 13 schedules and two Attachments.
