Abstract
This Act concerns the prevention, control and removal of pest from plants. It consists 9 Parts divided into 39 sections. The stated objectives of the Act are (a) to prevent, control or remove pest infestation of plants in Queensland; and (b) help other jurisdictions prevent, control or remove plant pests, diseases, pest infestations, infections or conditions; and (c) facilitate the movement of plants into and out of Queensland.
The Act provides for the appointment of inspectors (Part 2), pest control measures (Part 3), accreditation (Part 4), intergovernmental agreements (Part 5), Government and industry cost sharing agreements (Part 5A), and administrative decisions (Part 6). The Act is completed by two schedules containing a list of serious pests and a dictionary of relevant terms.
