Public and Environmental Health Act 2011.

This Act, consisting of 140 sections divided into eleven Parts and completed by two Schedules, provides a framework for monitoring and regulating public and environmental health in the Northern Territory.
The Act, among other things, aims to provide a flexible capacity to protect the health of particular individuals and communities in the Territory from emerging environmental conditions that may impact on their health and wellbeing; and to monitor, assess and control environmental conditions, factors and agents, facilities and equipment and activities, services and products that impact on or may impact on public and environmental health.
The Act contains provisions related to public health risk activities; it establishes registration requirements for businesses carrying out declared activities. The act continues providing for public health nuisance, public health notices and orders. Part 5 concerns special powers, including conduct of inquiries, emergency powers. Part 9 offences.
