Abstract
This Act amends the Regulatory Powers (Standard Provisions) Act 2014 with respect to securing evidence of a contravention, monitoring powers, civil penalty orders, infringement notices and some other matters. In addition, this Act amends other Commonwealth legislation, notably the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012, the Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012 and the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 so as to apply provisions of the Regulatory Powers (Standard Provisions) Act 2014 (Regulatory Powers Act, 2014) and to make consequential amendments. Part 4 of the Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012 now applies the Regulatory Powers Act to enable inspectors to exercise monitoring, investigation and enforcement powers for the purposes of that Act.
