Abstract
These regulations implement provisions of the Sea Installations Act with respect to permits for sea installations and prescribed vessels. The Act aims at ensuring that sea installations installed in adjacent areas are operated in a manner that is safe and consistent with the protection of the environment.
For the purposes of paragraph (r) of the definition of "sea installation" in subsection 4 (1) of the Act, these Regulations prescribe the following classes of structure: (a) moorings; (b) navigable vessels, other than prescribed vessels or pontoons; (c) meteorological aids, or wave data recording stations, operated by the Commonwealth.
