Abstract
This Act shall ensure that sea installations installed in adjacent areas are operated in a manner that is safe and consistent with the protection of the environment. The Act also applies appropriate laws in relation to such sea installations.
The Act shall protect, among other things, exploring, exploiting or using the living resources of the sea, of the seabed or of the subsoil of the seabed, including fishing, pearling, oyster farming and fish farming. An adjacent area is defined by Schedule 2 to the Petroleum Act and this Act. A sea installation may include installations used for fishing or mariculture and in general includes an installation used for an environment-related activity.
