Abstract
These Regulations are organized in 3 Parts. Part 2 provides for water restrictions; the Part establishes that a regulated entity may restrict the supply of water by any or all of the following means: (a) by restricting the purposes for which the water may be used; (b) by specifying the purposes for which the water may not be used; (c) by restricting the days or times, or both, when the water may be used; (d) by restricting the quantity of the water that may be used by a person, or at premises, in a specified period; (e) by restricting the means or methods by which the water may be used. The restriction of water supply might be to all, or part only, of the area to which the regulated entity ordinarily supplies the water. In addition classes of persons, in whole or in part, may be exempted from a restriction of the supply of water.
Part 2A establishes the service standards of a relevant entity, intended as the person holding a license, or an interim license, granted under the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008. The Part identifies: requests of information by a person or public entity in relation to a small or large development, or the construction of water and sewerage assets for a small or large development; request for approval of the engineering design of a small or large development, or of water and sewerage assets, of a small or large development, that are to be transferred to the relevant entity; request from a planning authority to provide relevant entity’s opinion in relation to a proposed amendment, under section 56 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 , of a permit; etc.
Part 3, Miscellaneous, considers aspects such as subdivisions and work that are not use or development under Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993; defines prescribed structures; and sets requirements in relation to trade waste.
